What?
School House Craft helps artists and crafters find the knowledge they need to make their businesses last. We hold weekly small business classes as well as an annual conference. We’re also excited to announce a NEW one day event for the creative blogging community – Blogger’s Summer Camp.

Annual Fall Conference: Two days in the Fall of 2013, Dates TBA, Seattle
In it’s fourth year our annual conference consists of two jam packed days of classes taught by instructors from all over the region. Our classes range from website basics, how to sell to shops and stores, designing a better booth display to getting great press. Our annual conference has become the place to learn how to start and grow ones creative small business empire!

Blogger’s Summer Camp: Friday, June 14th 10 – 3 pm, Mount Baker Community Club
We’ve put together panels of some of our favorite PNW bloggers and we’ll be asking them all about how they got started, their advice for creating a solid brand, the lessons they’ve learned about building an audience, how they manage their blog / life balance, and of course, tips on making money with a creative blog. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from their blogging peers. We will be holding small group networking round tables where peers can ask advice from blogging peers and mentors. Panelists include: Arianne Foulks of Aeolidia, Blair Stocker of Wise Craft, Andie Powers of Assemble, Megan Reardon of Not Martha, Marie LeBaron of Make and Takes and Melanie Biehle of Inward Facing Girl.

Why?
With both interest in, and demand for, handmade goods growing by leaps and bounds each year, creative business owners are feeling the need to learn the skills they need to connect to their community and customers. The West Coast has long been known for it’s creative communities and by creating an event focused specifically on blogging we are excited to draw the crafting community together, share resources, and build skill sets. School House Craft will send students out ready to strengthen their communities and the creative business world.
