Our mission is to help artists and craft makers find the knowledge they need to build businesses that last!

School House Craft offers classes and hands-on workshops at our annual conference for artists and crafters. With classes from beginning to advanced, taught by instructors from all over the region. School House Craft is your place to learn how to start and grow your creative small business empire!

School House Craft is organized by Isaac Watson and produced by Maker’s Nation, a Portland-based nonprofit organization that offers business education and community support to independent creative entrepreneurs, and School House Craft is right up our alley. Maker’s Nation purchased School House Craft from Andrea Porter in 2015 and is excited to take the reins. (Learn more.)

Isaac Clubhouse Portrait 500pxIsaac Watson is a community organizer, former crafty business owner, and freelance conference producer with a passion for independent entrepreneurship. He ran Focal Length Designs from 2008–2011, co-chaired the Etsy-sponsored I Heart Art: Portland project from 2009–2012, has been on the World Domination Summit team since 2012, and co-produces its sister conference, Pioneer Nation. In what little spare time he has, Isaac loves building things, from a tiny cabin overlooking the Columbia River to home renovation projects. School House Craft is no stranger to Isaac—he spoke at and attended the conference in both 2012 and 2014.
